This summer we installed one of our best-selling Create Play structures, the Caterpillar Crawl, at The King & Bear in Saint Augustine, FL.
Professional installation ensures that playground equipment is properly installed, meeting all safety requirements. BYO Recreation & NPC's installers are all Certified Playground Safety Inspectors and are familiar with the equipment, meaning there's no guess work.
We created a full installation video that shows the entire process of our installation at The King & Bear from start to finish.
The playground equipment was shipped freight in a crate. When the truck arrived at the playground site, the installers unloaded the equipment with a forklift and by hand. Once the equipment was unloaded, the installers checked that all parts were present and in perfect condition.
The next step was to measure and lay out the equipment in the use zone, an essential step in the installation process. This is how the installers know where the holes are going to go and make sure the distances are correct in relation to the other equipment.
After the installers laid the pieces out, they used an auger to dig the holes and a laser level to make sure those holes were level on the bottom, so they could install the posts in the ground with concrete. The concrete set overnight, then the installers began to lay the decks and other play components.
Once the playground was fully constructed, the installers put the playground borders in place with stakes and then used a Bobcat bucket to move the mulch from the pile to the playground and distribute it evenly.
