Push play to the next challenge level with the Pinta. The short course offers a variety activities that can work multiple muscle groups. The sides have three rope climbers for children to climb up and down. The unique triangular shape with the point towards the ground makes the upper level much larger. On one end is the Inclined Wall with molded "rock" grips from a fun climb up. Underneath is the first of the Single PlayShells, with the other being at the other end. The shells can be used to rest on or for climbing. The most fun part of the entire set though is the Active Link. The array of circles, triangular shaped pieces with holes and the staggered angling make for an adventure every time. There is no clear one one way to handle climbing through it. The benefits to challenge style courses are innumerable. Oftentimes, older children do not feel challenged on the more traditional style structures. With the multiple free-form shapes and unusual climbers, children have to find a way to play. This encourages imaginative play the narrative is no longer forced by themed pieces. Children have to become their own authors of the story. Finally, while obstacle structure typically don't have decks, they encourage more full body weight work. When there is a surface under their feet on classic structures, they don't have to balance and support themselves. Moving up a ladder, or climbing up suspended components requires more strength and constant balance.
